Utah Teacher of the Year Nominee
Every year, across the state of Utah, school districts and charter schools celebrate public education and the vital role of excellent teachers by selecting and honoring a Teacher of the Year in their district or charter. Each of these outstanding educators is then considered as a finalist for the Utah Teacher of the Year program. Recently, the Utah Teacher of the Year Awards Banquet was held to celebrate and recognize these nominees and the tremendous contributions they make to students and schools throughout Utah.
We want to recognize and celebrate Daggett School District’s Teacher of the Year, Guy Gonder. Mr. Gonder’s dedication to his students, his commitment to education, and the willingness he has to go above and beyond to help students succeed make him a deserving recipient of this honor.
Guy consistently puts students first. He creates a positive learning environment where students feel supported, encouraged, and challenged to do their best. Mr. Gonder’s passion for teaching and genuine care for his students are evident in the relationships he builds and the difference he makes in their lives.
We are proud to have Guy Gonder represent Daggett School District as our Teacher of the Year. We congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition and thank him for the time, energy, and heart he gives to our students each day.

Anti-Bullying Student Assemblies and Parent Workshops at Daggett School District
Supporting a Schoolwide Commitment to Student Safety
The Utah State Board of Education’s Bullying Prevention resources provide an important foundation for prevention, intervention, and reporting efforts throughout the Daggett School District. Our leadership remains deeply committed to providing meaningful programs that go beyond basic awareness and focus on developing real-world skills. We believe a safe, supportive learning environment requires more than consistent expectations—it requires practical strategies that students can use every day.
To support this mission, Daggett School District partners with Box Out Bullying to provide engaging student assemblies, parent workshops, and specialized student programming. This coordinated approach uses specific pedagogy aligned with Utah State Board of Education guidelines to clarify what bullying, cyber-bullying, and hazing are (and aren't), while actively promoting bystander empowerment and empathy. By focusing on lasting behavior change, these initiatives help students, families, and educators build the accountability and confidence necessary to maintain a positive school culture.
