Manila, Utah

April 22, 2010

A special meeting of the Daggett Board of Education was held in Room 6 of the district office building on April 22, 2010.  President Asbill called the meeting to order at 6:12 PM.  Also attending were members Jones, Barber, and Pallesen; Superintendent Northcott; Business Administrator Robinson.

Discussion was held regarding the i3 Grant.  This is the program that some members of the Board recently saw in Richfield.  Some of the pieces include adaptive testing and a rigorous evaluation system.  Mrs. Barber moved to have Superintendent Northcott join the consortium for the i3 Grant, seconded by Mrs. Pallesen, motion carried unanimously.

Superintendent Northcott led a discussion on budget issues.  One of the scenarios was restructuring the grade combinations at Manila Elementary.   Another scenario is to restore the $30,000.00 of PILT monies back into the general fund.  The preliminary budget will be built with these items included.

Superintendent Northcott reviewed the updates that have come from the architect.  The Board will apply for QSCB monies and put out an RFP for a Financial Advisor.  If the Board is awarded QSCB monies, they will have to bond in November in order to receive a 0% interest rate.

There being no further business the meeting was declared adjourned.
